Describe the standard recommendations for squeezing thermal grease

Reading Volume: 【 2034 】 Time: 【 2017-12-26 】
1. When extruding, the nozzle of the thermal paste points to the center of Die on the CPU surface. Don't squeeze from left to right like squeezing toothpaste, because the pressure will push the thermal paste on both sides of Die outward when installing the radiator, and the excess thermal paste will be pushed close to the capacitor.
2. The Die part of the Athlon series CPU is very small, so you only need to squeeze out the thermal paste that accounts for about 1/4 of the Die area.
3. The Die protective cover of the P4 CPU has a large area, and it only needs to squeeze out about 1/9 of the die area. Some people think that the surface of P4 should also be coated with thermal grease, but this is actually unnecessary. It is enough that the thermal paste on the P4 surface is squeezed into a circle with a diameter close to the side of the metal cover. Too much can easily contaminate the CPU socket and motherboard.
4. If you squeeze the thermal grease slightly more than the above ratio, you can gently wipe off the excess thermal grease with paper.
5. If you squeeze too much of the thermal paste, it is best to completely clean the contaminated parts other than Die and try again. Because if you don’t understand the conductivity of a certain brand of thermal paste, contaminating resistors, capacitors, and Xiaojinqiao’s thermal paste is enough to cause a short circuit and burn the CPU.
